Midterm Management Plan


Kuriyama Corporation Group has announced a midterm management plan in February 2006. The plan is a three-year plan and targeted for its accomplishment in the fiscal year ending December 31, 2008

1. Corporate Objective

Kuriyama Corporation Group’s corporate objective is first of all to build a firm that is trusted by customers and responds to the expectations of customers. Under such corporate objective, Kuriyama Corporation Group aims to adapt itself rapidly and properly to customers’ needs and changing markets and make group companies that are understood and trusted by shareholders, customers, suppliers, employees and communities.

2. Management Vision

Kuriyama Corporation Group has developed a midterm management vision called “Innovation and Future −Pursue New Paths to Affluence”.

1.  Break with the status quo by drastic change of consciousness.

2.  Create new values for customers from offering continuous proposals and information.

3.  Challenge with courage and act in good faith.

4.  Plan future vision for creating further affluence.

5.  Respond to the confidence of shareholders, employees and communities.

3. Basic Management Policies

Kuriyama Corporation Group has worked out the basic management policies to achieve the midterm management plan.

(1)   Stabilization of Revenues by Business Management Portfolio

Further strengthening of our advantage in the present market, along with competitiveness and growth potential, is to be rapidly implemented based on an appropriate allocation of the management resources. The North American hose business as core part of the industrial materials business is to be reinforced by enhancing its production facilities and investing more management resources in a proactive manner.

The construction materials business is to be promoted by building up the human resources in the Kanto area that shows consistent improvement on a private capital investment.

(2)   Establishment of Global Operating Bases

(A)   North America

Kuriyama of America Incorporated aims to achieve increased expansion and stabilization in the U.S. and Canada ’s hose market by fully maximizing the all-in-one production and sales network established well over the years within the North American subsidiaries consisting of 7 manufacturing bases and 4 sales bases. The Central and South American market that has enormous potential is to be explored with a view to M&A and business alliance

(B)   Asia

Kuriyama Corporation Group aims to establish a supply and service system to take prompt action on Japanese companies’ enquiry regarding Kuriyama’ products whose activities have been globally developed in China and ASEAN countries.
